The Kwon lab at Johns Hopkins University studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying heart development and disease. We seek to understand how pluripotent cells differentiate and mature into the diverse cells of the adult heart. This knowledge will be fundamental to understanding of heart formation and malformation and be instrumental for stem cell-based heart regeneration.
